Our History

With humble roots, beginning as a modest candy-packaging factory in 1995, Nafta Foods has since become North America’s leading specialty cookie, gingerbread and cookie kit manufacturer, and holds a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. But how did we become the record-breaking, award-winning company that we are today? Through creativity, innovation and vertical integration, along with a lot of passion and hard work.

• 1995 -Commences operations exclusively as a packaging facility for candies.

• 1996 – Acquires Lowes Food Products and expands to include dry powder based products both with development, production and packaging.

• 1997 – Purchases and Installs its first baking line and commences production of Gingerbread Houses.

• 2000 – Relocates to a 35,000 ft. facility.

• 2000 – Installs second baking line to meet rising demand for product.

• 2001 – Relocates to 67,000 ft. facility.

• 2001 – Launches own brand products under the Orbit Cookie® name.

• 2003 – Commences utilization of new high speed Baking line with 150 feet baking tunnel and 600 foot cooling spiro.

• 2005 – Relocates to custom built 160,000 ft. facility.

• 2006 – Helps build the Worlds™ tallest gingerbread house for the Guinness Book of World Records.

• 2007 – Entered into the Pre-made icing production.

• 2010 – Entered into the Rolled fondant production.

• 2011 – Achieves GFSI  certification (General Food Safety Initiative)
